God Meeting People Where They Are

God Meeting People Where They Are

God, Do You Really Care About Me?

Aline Iradukunda is a student at Univeristy of Ewatini who among some fellow colleagues was selected to attend the Women Initiative training of trainers at Campus Crusade for Christ premises.

She was in Mozambique when she got the invitation, and even contemplated declining.  But, she felt like there was more

that she  would learn from the training and begged her parents to allow her to travel back to Eswatini just for the training. She was excited to meet other participants and to learn about the Jesus Film app which is very convenient when sharing the gospel, leading small groups and discipleship.

Aline had identified herself as someone who is not a social media person, when she was asked about her plans in sharing the gospel using those platforms. However, she took a photo from one of the presentations which read, “God, do you really care about me?” and posted it on her Whatsapp status. One of her contacts texted her lamenting how she felt as if God was far off. Aline then engaged in a constructive conversation with her contact which was not going to be possible if she did not share the conversation starter.

“This honestly opened my eyes to know that I have to be intentional when I post on the social media platforms as many people benefit even if they do not say.” She said.

Aline’s story is one in many that happen when believers decide to use their social media spaces to start God centred conversations.

Embraced By God In Sabbatical

In the tapestry of life, some threads are woven with joy, while others bear the weight of struggle and sorrow. For Bongiwe Sibandze, a dedicated GCM staff member, the past few years have been a profound testament to resilience and unwavering faith.

Since her marriage in 2020, Bongiwe and her husband have longed for the pitter-patter of tiny feet in their home.

But their path was fraught with heartbreak as they faced the devastation miscarriages.

Yet, amid their trials, hope glimmered in 2023 when she conceived once more. This time, she embraced the journey with prioritising her health and her unborn child. She took a year-long sabbatical to nurture life within her.

From the fourth month, she was confined to bed rest, followed a strict diet, and earnestly prayed for God’s intervention. “It was a very tiring situation, where I would only wake up to freshen up and to eat. Every breath was a conversation with God.” She said when she visited the CCC offices.

Her home was filled with prayer everyday from family, friends, and workmates at CCC. Finally, with God’s faithfulness, the moment of triumph arrived and she welcomed the cutest baby girl into the world. Gazing into the eyes of her new miracle that rested on her arms, she would only see grace.

“We named her Zukiswa, which means “Let God be praised”, she is a testament of the undeniable power of God.” she shared.

We can all just celebrate the faithfulness of God and sincerely wish Bongiwe and her family nothing but the best of the land.

Miracle in Moyeni: A Healing Encounter Through Prayer

One group reached a certain home, where the father of the family was sick. He was called out of the house to be prayed for by the team. After the team had prayed for him, one of the children that were born dumb started mumbling the name “Jesus”. Amazed, the grandmother of the child could not stop praising God with tears rolling down her face. “This is the first time ever, we hear him speak. My grandson was born dumb, and we praise God for this. What is even interesting is that Jesus is the first name he said.” The team left the home excited to see the God’s power manifest in such magnitude. A reassurance that God is taking the lead as we go out to share the gospel everywhere until everyone knows someone who truly follow Jesus Christ.

Jesus Finds Us Right Where We Are

Looking from a distance you will see a group of young people huddling in the park. All casually dressed and jovial as they go through different games and puzzles.

This is a Bible Reading Picnic that was started by Cinisani a student from Limkokwing University in Eswatini. Having received Christ themselves and

been close to the SLM team, they were ignited to share the gospel in a unique way.

Cinisani is an entrepreneurial young man who loves fun and has a lot of same minded friends some of whom are not Christians. He saw this as an opportunity to share Christ by simple starting a Bible study group where they read the Bible and meet every month in a picnic.

At least 5 new believers have accepted Christ as a result of this movement and many young people have embraced it even inviting others especially non-believers to attend. SLM Eswatini has been dearly pleased with such an initiative and has encouraged more creative ways to make Christ known.

Intoxicated Man Come to Know Christ

I could hear the sound of Hope from a distance

he heard and landed at the All Night Prayer hall.

He was visible drunk, and went on to raise his hands and dedicate himself in the altar accepting the Lord during the service.

The following week, now sober and sound Jele visited the Campus Crusade offices to leave behind his contact details. He was warmly welcomed by the MC of the night Miss Nelisiwe Zulu, and was introduced into a discipleship and follow up program.

A Light in the Hallways: The Story of 14-Year-Old Phiwo

In a bustling township surrounded by hills and echoes of children's laughter, a 14-year-old girl named Phiwo is making waves that ripple far beyond her school. With a heart on fire for the gospel, Phiwo has embraced her mission to share the love of Jesus with anyone willing to listen. Equipped with the Four Spiritual Laws,

A Light in the Hallways: The Story of 14-Year-Old Phiwo

she is living proof that God's work is not limited by age, but empowered by faith.

Phiwo’s journey began during a youth camp hosted by Campus Crusade for Christ. At the camp, she was introduced to the **Four Spiritual Laws**, a simple yet powerful tool that explains God's love and purpose for humanity. As she read through the booklet, a spark of purpose ignited in her heart. For the first time, she realized that sharing the gospel didn’t require eloquence or years of experience—just a willing heart and the courage to step out in faith.

Returning to school after the camp, Phiwo couldn’t shake the feeling that God was calling her to do something big. She began to pray, asking for opportunities to share the gospel. Soon enough, her prayers were answered.

Bringing Light to Her School

During lunch breaks, Phiwo would gather a few classmates under the shade of a large jacaranda tree. With the Four Spiritual Laws booklet in hand, she shared the message of God’s love, humanity’s separation from Him, and how Jesus provides the only way to salvation. Her friends listened attentively, some for the first time hearing about Jesus in a personal and relatable way.

Word spread quickly about the “Bible girl” who spoke with such passion. Before long, teachers noticed her efforts. Some offered words of encouragement, while others were skeptical of how much impact a young girl could have. Phiwo, however, wasn’t deterred. She continued to share the gospel, one student at a time.

Reaching Beyond the Classroom

One day, Phiwo’s aunt, who worked at a local hospital, invited her to visit. Phiwo carried her Four Spiritual Laws booklet, sensing that God had plans for her even there. Walking into the hospital ward, she was struck by the somber atmosphere. Rows of patients lay in beds, some barely able to lift their heads.

With trembling hands but a steady heart, Phiwo approached an elderly woman sitting quietly by the window. Introducing herself, she asked if she could share something that had changed her life. The woman nodded, and Phiwo began to speak—about God’s love, about forgiveness, and about the hope found in Jesus.

Tears welled up in the woman’s eyes as she listened. By the end of their conversation, the elderly woman prayed with Phiwo to accept Christ as her Savior. The scene repeated itself with other patients, and to Phiwo’s amazement, even hospital staff began asking questions about her faith.

A Movement of Faith

Today, Phiwo continues her mission with unwavering dedication. Through her boldness, classmates, teachers, and even hospital patients have experienced the transforming power of the gospel. Her story reminds us that no one is too young or too inexperienced to share their faith.

When asked what motivates her, Phiwo simply says, “God loves me, and I want others to know that He loves them too.”

Phiwo’s story is an inspiration to us all—a testament to what God can do through a willing heart. May her light continue to shine, and may her story encourage many to step out in faith and share the gospel wherever they are.
